What We Do Not Provide

Working together to keep our rights as grandparents alive in Iowa.

Know your rights or you could lose them!

Fighting to keep our rights alive:

I started this website after watching my parents, my in-laws and myself being torn away from our grandchildren.  I had been approached by other grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles and other family members who were going through the same thing and wanted to know what they could do to try and see their grandchildren.  It sparked the idea to form an organization that keeps our rights as grandparents in the public's eyes, our state governments eyes and in the media's lens.  If we don't fight for our rights we can lose them.

Our Philosophy

We as grandparents are not worthless.  We do deserve our day in court and should be treated with respect in our court systems.  Visitation is our right as a grandparent and our courts should uphold their own laws.  We as grandparents should not be overlooked or pushed aside because of our ages as parents or guardians for our grandchildren.  Why our so many of our children being put into foster care when the grandparent wants to step in and raise the child or children?  The Iowa Grandparents Rights Organization wants to change this and make our state laws uphold in our courts.  As a united organization we can further our cause as one mighty voice.  We can make them hear our cause.  If you are tired of being pushed aside, ploughed under, laughed at by our court system and treated like dirt by the Department of Human Services than act today and join us in a united effort to stand up for your rights.
